Main Actions
- Play a card – without lightning bolt, resolve bottom half (pay scroll if pictured as cost)
- Buy a card – pay cost, Artifacts to play area resolving effect, Items to bottom of deck
- Discover – pay compass and travel cost, place worker, take idol, place Site gaining benefit, place guardian
- Dig – pay travel cost, place worker, gain reward
- Research – pay cost, move magnifying glass or book (book can’t pass magnifying glass), gain reward and tile if present.
- Overcome a Guardian – while a worker is at a site, pay guardian cost, take guardian
- Pass – pass
Free Actions
- Play immediate effect card (lightning bolt)
- Move idol to a slot, gain 1 reward pictured
- Use a guardian’s boon, flip guardian
- Use an assistant, rotate assistant, gain benefit
Notes
- Some assistants don’t have the lightning bolt, these must be used as a main action
End of Round
- Retrieve workers, gain 1 fear if retreating from a guardian
- Cards in hand may be kept or discarded
- Refresh assistants
- Discard 1 or 2 cards either side of staff
- Move staff, refresh cards market
- Draw to 5 cards
- Move first player token clockwise

- Each research token based on row
- VP from Temple tiles
- 3VP per idol
- VP from empty idol slots
- 5VP per guardian
- VP for each Item/Artifact card
- -1VP for Fear Cards and -2VP for Fear Tiles
